Citizen Kane (1941) - A newspaper tycoon dies and a magazine reporter interviews his friends in an effort to discover the meaning of his last words.
A brilliant piece of Hollywood cinema using all the resources of the studio; despite lapses of characterization and gaps in the narrative, almost every shot and every line is utterly absorbing both as entertainment and craft. Part of the storyline tells about Kane's childhood days and how he became the man of all time.
I strongly advised readers to catch this black and white movie if possible. During the 1940's, we all know that technology was not as it is now. Film editing is merely impossible by computers. Some of the scenes from this movie were taken more than once. A couple of the same screenshots were being overlapped to make it one scene! Incredible isn't it? I bet the crews for this successful film have done a tremendous job on producing this piece of motion picture.
